Hi there, I'm Rachel and I'm doing my part to reduce the amount of plastic bags which end up in our landfills by creating multi-purpose, multi-use, carry-all type bags from the piles of shopping bags that our supermarkets and stores currently use.

It takes 3-4 days to make each bag. Each completed bag requires 40-50+ bags to make, and I rely on a fairly steady stream of donated shopping bags in order to keep up with demand! My hope is that in the not-too-distant future there will be no plastic bags left to be donated and I will no longer be able to produce these handy, strong bags :).

I am always looking for bags to be donated and particularly need coloured bags such as the green Pak n'Save bags, Mitre 10 bags and bootliners, and the pink Cancer Society clothing bags. I will happily take all the supermarket plastic bags - Countdown white and grey are always good too!

I cannot use the thicker plastic carry-bags from Farmers or clothing stores as these are too tough to be easily re-purposed. Please continue to drop these at the soft-plastics recycling bins at all the major supermarket chains.
